Silver Linings Playbook.

Over the weekend we saw Silver Linings Playbook, which I had high hopes for thanks to the all the glowing reviews and Oscar nominations it's received. Happily, it was even better than I expected: Bradley Cooper and Jennifer Lawrence were wonderful, and I found myself tearing up several times throughout the movie (and I'm not a movie-cryer). Silver Linings Playbook focuses very closely on mental illness and how we deal with it—whether we struggle with it or someone we know does—and as someone with a history of bipolar disorder on both sides of my family, it was gratifying to see the disease being taken seriously and treated with sensitivity and honesty. If you haven't already, definitely go see it. Thumbs-up from both me and ACS, who I'm pretty sure was afraid this movie was going to be a terribly saccharine romantic comedy but who kept saying how much he enjoyed it after it was over.
