yesterday i mentioned that i'm really enjoying meklit hadero's music, so today i thought i'd share one of her songs with you. although the song is ultimately about someone leaving (hence the title), the beat is pretty sexy, and it's kind of perfect getting-ready-to-go-out-on-a-springtime-saturday-night-date music. it's also, as i discovered, great sunday-night music, too -- i listened to it while standing in my kitchen with the windows open and a cool breeze blowing through, and had one of those simple, perfectly happy moments. so lovely.
anyway, listen and let me know what you think. meklit, who was born in ethiopia but based in san francisco, will be in sarasota in october for the ringling international arts festival, and i'm hoping i get to see her perform live.
