Rooted in Succulents.

Holy moly: These monogrammed succulent planter boxes from Rooted in Succulents are amazing. I want an "M" so, so badly. Totally awesome, right?

P.S. I don't know what it is, but despite my black thumb, I am really into plants lately. I bought a dwarf Meyer lemon tree a few weeks ago and I'm kind of in love with it, and I'm itching to start a herb garden. Any gardening tips are much-appreciated—I grew up with huge orange trees in my backyard but never actually did anything to care for them, and, um, I've killed succulents before. So yes: tips welcome! xo

  1. I can easily see why you want one of those monogrammed planters! Somehow I have killed cacti but done pretty well with a regular outdoor garden...I think I get too overzealous with watering succulents. I would really like to start an indoor herb garden, but since I'm moving in a few months it needs to be portable...if I come up with any ideas or find some good sites as resources, I'll pass them on!

  2. I am really loving this planter! Will need to check out that Esty and put it on my wish list.

As for gardening, are you looking to do an indoor or an outdoor herb garden potentially? Certain herbs are easier than others. And in fact, some once they get going, just maintain on their own with little care needed. Let me know indoor or outdoor and hopefully I can pass on some tips. :-)

    1. Hey, Kenley! I think outdoors--I have a tiny strip of outdoor patio space (that's where the lemon tree is living), and so I was hoping to get my plants set up there. I'd love any tips you have! Thanks!

  3. I'm crazy obsessed with succulents at the moment and just purchased a terrarium from Target to house a little collection on our coffee table. Also, um, SO MANY houseplants in our apartment. And I'm on the hunt for more.

Regarding succulents, my tip is to never over-water them and to be sure you plant in a pot that has drainage or put rocks in the bottom. I've killed a few before at my over zealous watering can's hand.

Also, if you buy from Home Depot or someplace other than a respected nursery, ALWAYS repot. I got a nasty case of bugs from not re-potting some plants from Home Depot last year and they wiped out so many lovely plants. Sad times.

Enjoy your gardening pursuits! Spring is the perfect time to test out a green-thumb. The lemon you picked up is divine!

    1. Thanks for these tips, Eileen! So great. I actually did repot the lemon tree, thank goodness, and I'm trying to resist the urge to overwater, so fingers crossed I can keep my little tree alive. Ironically, I had to bring it inside last night because it was in the 30s here! (What?!)
